His free time is spent with his friend’s while also trying to conquer mountains of schoolwork as he works towards his degree at UVIC. One of Dan’s most memorable IKC experiences would have to be at the age of 13 training at Velox field.  In the pouring rain, “Shel had me diving repeatedly into the biggest puddle on the field despite the dry ground all around us”.

Brandon Curr (brandon@islandkeeperclinic.com )

Brandon has been part of the IKC Coaching Staff since 1996 and participated in the goalkeeper development programs as an aspiring youth goalkeeper. Kjeld and Kathy Brodsgaard ( kjeld@islandkeeperclinic.com )

Kjeld and Kathy Brodsgaard are very involved in the success of their son’s company. Mom serves up all the delicious meals at the residential camp during the summer. While his father handles the books through the calendar year, as well as drives the bus around Denman Island during the residential camp in the summer. Kjeld is a former goalkeeper, who played for the London Boxing Club in the 1970’s. Although, he now spends his Wednesday evenings playing “striker” for the Gorge Masters demanding the ball “be played to his feet!” Kathy is a member of the Gorge Force (which is an amateur team strictly for women who have limited involvement in organized soccer) and cannot believe how hard it is to run, kick, catch and breathe at the same time while chasing down the ball or an opponent on the soccer field. When they are not relaxing on Denman Island, Kjeld and Kathy both enjoy socializing with their friends at the Gorge Clubhouse, and of course, spending time with Barney.
Jill Carruthers

Jill has been a part of the IKC staff since 2004. She is originally from Saskatoon, SK. She has just completed her fourth year for the University of Victoria Vikes with GK coach Bobby "Big Daddy” Stankov.  She began her involvement with IKC as young goalkeeper with a trip to the Denman Island Residential Camp in 2001. Her playing highlights include playing for the Saskatchewan Provincial all-star team, U18 Canadian Women’s team that toured Italy and Germany and attending the Gothia Cup in Gothenburg, Sweden. Jill's favourite IKC moments include the 'chocolate chip incident' on Denman in 2001, and any drill that involves “Shel serving the ball at one million kilometres an hour from 3 meters away”.

Barney is our mascot and family boarder collie. He is a welcomed addition to the residential program, as he is an active swimmer, runner and ball chaser!
